Tramite un collegamento e il protocollo OCG-WMS la web-app si allaccia ai server cartografici istituzionali degli enti che pubblicano con licenza OpenGeoData. Installando MobileMapItalia nel proprio dispositivo è possibile interrogare e consultare la cartografia tecnica vigente, ufficiale ed OpenData, con funzionalità di sovrapposizione, localizzazione GPS, ricerca ed interrogazione dei dati forniti.
